The summer sun is bouncing off the polished and shined car bodies at downtown Oshawa’s Show and Shine. Car enthusiasts have an opportunity every Wednesday, until Sept. 5 to show off their wheels and talk cars. Classic vehicles remain a crowd pleaser, but every make and model is welcomed.
The event that kicked off May 23 is held at Queen’s Market, located at the corner of Simcoe and Richmond, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Music is scheduled to be the soundtrack for the each evening as well as a 50/50 draw in support of the John Howard Society, which also has an information booth set up. Local artist, Ryan Howe will be drawing caricatures, while food vendors such as the corn popped by downtown shop Great Canadian Popcorn Company will be selling food.
This year is a first for Show and Shine though the plan is to make it an annual event.
The weather has not been kind to the past couple Wednesdays, lucky for car enthusiasts it is happening rain or shine.
