The second annual Midnight Madness shopping event is happening in downtown Oshawa on Saturday, November 20 from 6 p.m. to midnight.
Following Santa’s Parade of Lights, downtown Oshawa stores will keep their doors open for extended hours, allowing customers to get their holiday shopping done while still in the spirit.
Dorian’s Fashion Reflections at 29 King St. E. is participating in the event. Johanna Rienstra, owner of Dorian’s, talks about the estimated turnout for Midnight Madness and what customers can expect to find at her shop.
Dorian’s will also have a sale during Midnight Madness. Customers can purchase one item at regular price and get a second item of equal or lesser value at half price.
Rienstra and her staff are looking forward to Saturday night’s event. She says despite anticipating a busy evening, they generally don’t get stressed since they’re experienced in their field. Rienstra adds that a lot of repeat customers are happy with the level of customer service they’ve received at her shop.
Santa’s Parade of Lights takes place prior to Midnight Madness. The parade begins at 6 p.m. and runs along King Street West, down Centre Street and back along John Street.
