Will you be my valentine? Cupid’s arrow strikes on Tuesday, but those still in the market for some last minute trinkets of affection shouldn’t worry. It’s easy to ring in winter’s annual day of love when downtown Oshawa is equipped with anything you could possibly need to shower your loved one.
When it comes down to it, it’s all about the flowers. Nothing says Valentine’s Day like a beautiful bouquet of roses and Reed’s Florist has a wide selection of arrangements for an array of prices from $40 to $230. Manager, Jeffrey Wilson says buying some roses is not only a great symbol of affection, but can help out your community too.
“Flowers are probably the best way to express emotion,” said Wilson. “When you shop at your local florist, you’re giving back to your economy.”
Bring sexy back at the stag shop, Naughty but Nice with some festive deals like 20 per cent off select lingerie, 50 per cent off select items and free gifts with every purchase. A sales representative from the store who wished not to be named said experimenting with your sex life is a great way to come together as a couple.
“We feel people should be comfortable with their sexuality and enjoy being with each other.”
However, if you’re looking for something sweet over sexy, maybe a tray of delicious treats would do the trick. Mad Café is selling valentine’s themed red velvet cupcakes half a dozen for $10 or a full dozen for $20. Manager Angela Anderson says the pastries shouldn’t be looked down on as an appropriate present.
“If you’re anything like myself then baked goods are a great way to show your love for someone.”
