The 8th Annual Comedy Festival in support of United Way kicks off at Lviv hall in Oshawa tonight as the show offers a night of great comedians performing.
Some of the acts at the show include Elvira Kurt, the host of Comedy’s Network’s PopCultured, John Pattison, a ventriloquist, and MC Stephen Cox. The festival also includes the Black Fly Boogie band to top off the night.
The event, which has been previously well-attend, is expected to sell out tonight. “We typically bring in about 300 people,” said event organizer Line Millett. “We have been sold out for the last four years.”
The festival also includes a silent auction, cash bar door prizes and a hot and cold luncheon buffet at 11 p.m. for all guests.
Some of the prizes include a $100 gift certificate from Cadillac Fairview and two tickets to the Mirvish production of The Secret Garden.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. If you’re interested in purchasing tickets they can be bought at the United Way Office at 345 Simcoe St. S. in Oshawa.
