While some children are lucky enough to leave the cold weather behind over March Break, others are staying put. It forces children and parents alike to question, “What is there fun to do over the next week?”
Downtown Oshawa has plenty of events and activities during the break of March 10 to March 21 to keep the kids occupied.
There are a number of camps kids can join at Oshawa’s numerous recreation centres. Visit the website for more information or you can register online at www.oshawa.ca/lol
Unfortunately due to renovation construction, the March Break programs for the Robert McLaughlin Gallery have been canceled this year. However, there is plenty of fun to be had right next door at the Robert McLaughlin Library.

The Oshawa Public Library is hosting a March Break Movie Madness night on March 13th at their auditorium in the McLaughlin branch. They will be playing The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader at 2:30 p.m. Contact Alison McCullough at 905-579-6111 ext. 5233 or email: amccullough@oshawalibrary.on.ca for registration details.
The library is also having an Escape with Chocolate night on March 17th for all those 12- to 18-year-olds with a sweet tooth. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and will have children molding their own chocolates and gift boxes. Contact Tiffany Pahman at 905-579-6111 or email: tpahman@oshawalibrary.on.ca for more information.
Check out the video below to hear Kim O’Reilly speak about the popularity of the Oshawa Public Library’s March Break programs. For the programs that are already booked, she suggests to call and put your child’s name on the wait list.
