Have no fear, St. Paddy’s Day is almost here and there are many fun things for people to do to celebrate in style.
Many people associate the day with leprechauns and gold coins and some even pay tribute with the magically delicious Lucky Charm cereal, which has nothing to do with the day at all.
Nevertheless, every year on March 17 people celebrate and honour in their own ways. Despite the cold weather leading up to the special day this year, people are ready to have a fun night out with friends and cozy up somewhere warm.
Local pubs and bars in downtown Oshawa such as Riley’s, the Atria and the Green Bottle are holding free events with live entertainment and are offering food and drink specials for the occasion.
Atria bartender Kelly Shelemba says that even though she’s not Irish, that doesn’t stop her from enjoying the day. “It’s usually pretty packed here and people have a lot of fun,” she says. “They love the bands and just come here for a good time.”
When it comes down to the big decision, hold a clover or two and you might find the perfect spot for you. And remember, you don’t have to be Irish to celebrate.
