Get ready to place some bids down at the Simcoe Street United Church this weekend. The church will be hosting their second Family Treasures Auction starting with a silent auction today at 2 p.m. which runs until eight, followed by an auctioneer hosting a live bid this Saturday from 10 a.m. until five. All proceeds from the auction will be going back into the church.
Bidders can place their bets on many different items such as antique dining room sets, furniture, paintings, fine dishes such as crystal and silver as well as a variety of clothing including fur coats. Cutlery and accessories start at one to three dollars to bid on, while all other items don’t have a minimum bid. The items will remain in the silent auction until noon tomorrow where they will enter the live auction.
This will be the first bidding event held at the church in five years. At the last one, they were able to raise one thousand dollars in proceeds for the church. For those looking to attend this event, the church is located at the corner of Bagot and Simcoe St. To make a donation or for more information, contact the church at 905-728-8143.
