Free parking with Loyalty Pass

Loyalty Cards are being passed out at the Athol Street and Mary Street parking lots on special event days.
The card is free but only on special event days, parking attendants will be handing out the cards. It allows you to pay for parking ten times and then get the 11^th free. The card also includes discounts from local participating businesses such as, Coffee Culture, Diamond Grill, Al’s Resturant and much more. Participating businesses will have a “P Plus” sticker in their window.

Charles Dummett, originally from Portland Oregon, started the program last spring. With a marketing background, he initiated the idea in Portland and decided to try it in Oshawa. He wanted to give back to the community and also get local business involved.
Dummett has promoted the Loyalty Card on Facebook and Twitter and wants to include as much social media as possible.
“This is just a start and we want to see how it takes off,” said Dummett.
Dummett is also hoping to reach out to more businesses. So far, the parking committee has been handing out flyers and trying to recruit as many local businesses as possible.
There have been a lot of special events happening in Oshawa and the Loyalty Card has been put to good use. Dummett said so far the feedback has been good and he’s hoping it will expand.
Some of the discounts include ten per cent off any grilled sandwich or wrap at Coffee Culture and 15 per cent off at Diamond Grill.
