The Canadian Mental Health Association of Durham Region (CMHA), located in the heart of Oshawa, continues to leave its mark within the community.
The organization offers special services and activities to residents in the surrounding area who are suffering from mental illnesses, allowing them to rehabilitate and develop their physical and social skills.
Healthy living courses, therapy sessions and cooking daily meals for others are just some of the programs available to those who frequently visit the CMHA.
Currently, the healthy living program is taking part in the Aviva Community Fund contest. Due to lack of space and funding, the program is unable to hire more physical trainers and nurses to run more than one course at a time. People within the community are urged to vote in order for the CMHA to receive the much needed funding.
