If you are a painter who is looking to advance your skill, take on new challenges, while working among peers, this winter The Robert McLaughlin Gallery (RMG) is offering an exciting painting class with noted realist painter Shaun Downey.

Shaun Downey is an Oshawa native and an internationally recognized artist who has shown his work across Canada as well as at the BP Portrait Gallery in London, England. Following his participation in a group exhibition at the RMG in July of 2012, the gallery acquired one of his large, dramatic, realist paintings. This winter, the RMG has invited Shaun Downey to lead an artist talk and a painting class.The gallery invites all to attend a talk with the artist on Saturday 11 January from 1-3pm. The talk is free to attend and open to all. At the talk Shaun’s recently acquired work will be on view.
Shaun’s painting course is held on Thursday evenings from January 16th to March and 6th and costs $130 for members of the gallery or $150 for non-members.
