The official launch of the Art of Transition Culture Fund will be celebrated tonight, Friday, March 25 at the Regent Theatre for the Let’s Tango! event.
Durham Tourism, Durham Community Foundation and the Ontario Philharmonic have partnered up to create an evening of tango, including a VIP reception and a musical performance featuring tango legend, Ástor Piazzolla. Piazzolla is an Argentine tango composer and bandoneón player who revolutionized traditional tango music into a new form that incorporates elements of jazz and classical music.

The Ontario Philharmonic was founded in the City of Oshawa in 1957.

At the reception, guests can observe and appreciate a historic downtown venue, meet members of the Ontario Philharmonic, savour hors d’oeuvres and wine, enjoy an local art showcase and be part of the launch of the Art of Transition Culture Fund.
The Art of Transition Culture Fund is one of forty permanent funds under the umbrella of the Durham Community Foundation; however it is the only one focused specifically on supporting arts and culture charities.
Tickets for the reception are $35. Proceeds will go towards the Art of Transition Culture Fund, which hopes to create a lasting source of support for Durham arts and culture charities. For any additional information or to purchase tickets for the reception please call (905) 579-6711 or email contact@ontariophil.ca. Visit the Art of Transitions website for more information.
